Behind The Scenes of Portlandia

In anticipation of the Jan. 6, 2012 return of Portlandia, IFC has put together a short behind-the-scenes film, titled Inside Portlandia, that they hope will tide over fans of the hipster-mocking sketch comedy until 2012.

Through interviews with the show’s stars, Saturday Night Live’s Fred Armesin and former Sleater-Kinney rocker Carrie Brownstein, director Jonathan Krisel and executive producer Lorne Michaels, we learn that several of the first season’s most loved characters, including the put-a-bird-on-it couple, will return for Season 2. Joining them will be young parents Brendon and Michelle, Battlestar Galactica DVD enthusiasts Doug and Claire, as well as a slew of hilarious guest spots by Andy Sandberg, singer Joanna Newsom, Jeff Goldblum, Penny Marshall, Bridesmaids’ Kristen Wiig, Amber Tamblyn, Ed Begley Jr., Miranda July, Tim Robbins and Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones.
